For many of us, travel is something that happens only once or twice a year. For some, that’s enough to feel content in our day-to-day lives. For others, they never stop dreaming about what’s in each corner of the world. What are those people to do?
They’d love to adventure around for a living, but how does that dream turn to reality? Thankfully, there’s options for this but it’s understandable if it might sound scary to turn this dream into a new day-to-day life. If you don’t know what could be your ticket to seeing the world, here’s a few options on how it could happen.
Teach English
No not the subject, we’re talking about the language. The English language is a major international language and if you are a native speaker, being able to teach the language in other parts of the world might just be your way to see the different cultures of the world.
The exact experience you need might vary from job to job, but the strict requirement will be native English proficiency. Some positions might want you to have teaching experience but that won’t be the case for every job listing and many will want a 4-year degree but that won’t always be the case either.
Some of these positions will be in-person work and others might be remote. Depending on where you are curious about traveling to, one might work better than the other. If an option, don’t overlook working in-person as that can be a great opportunity to engross yourself in a local culture.
Writing
This here is a wide net and there’s no reason to close it. If you have the experience doing content writing or as a critic, you just might just be able to do your work from anywhere in the world where you are able to get a solid internet connection.
If you’ve got those skills, consider taking on some editing work as well. That might not be the first thing one thinks of, but that’s a sure way to make sure you can live the lifestyle that calls out to you.
If you are stricken with a case of wanderlust already, and don’t have prior writing experience, starting a travel blog might just be the perfect way to get experience in writing all while having the content of your blog as a better way to remember all you’ve seen along your travels.
Be A Tour Guide
If your wanderlust is only matched by how much you love to be in front of a crowd, what better job than being a tour guide? You should be able to find work in some of the most beautiful places in the world and if this is something you become serious about, you’ll be able to get a certification that will ensure you’ll be able to get work in most places. Once you are comfortable and ready to come into your own, you can even start your own tour company given you are alright with the fact that you might need to settle down wherever you’ve fallen in love with the most for your business to be successful.
